HSA contribution limits by year
Three tax years are open at once — one you are filing for, one you are contributing to, and one you can already plan. Each year has its own page with the full proration table.

Every year we publish
| Tax year | Self-only | Family | Age 55+ | HDHP minimum deductible | Contribute until |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2027 — next year | $4,500 | $9,000 | $1,000 | $1,750 / $3,500 | Tuesday, April 18, 2028 |
| 2026 — this year | $4,400 | $8,750 | $1,000 | $1,700 / $3,400 | Thursday, April 15, 2027 |
| 2025 | $4,300 | $8,550 | $1,000 | $1,650 / $3,300 | Wednesday, April 15, 2026 |
2024 and earlier are not published here. The registry row that would carry them is still marked unverified, and the fleet rule is that a number goes on a tax page only after it has been read off the revenue procedure that set it.

Questions
How far back do these HSA limit tables go?
To 2025. Earlier years are not published here: the 2022, 2023 and 2024 amounts have not been checked against their own revenue procedures, and an unverified figure on a tax page is worse than no page at all.
Why has the age-55 catch-up never changed?
Because it is written into the statute rather than indexed. IRC §223(b)(3) fixes the additional contribution at $1,000; only the base limits and the HDHP minimums are re-set for inflation each year under IRC §223(g).
When does the IRS publish the next year’s HSA limits?
Earlier than most annual figures — usually in a revenue procedure issued in the second quarter of the preceding year. The 2027 amounts came from Rev. Proc. 2026-24 (issued 2026-05-29), which means you can plan that year’s contributions well before it starts.
