# 2026 HSA contribution limits: $4,400 / $8,750

The 2026 HSA and HDHP amounts, and the prorated contribution limit for every count of eligible months from 1 to 12.

For the 2026 tax year the HSA contribution limit is $4,400 with self-only HDHP coverage and $8,750 with family coverage; anyone aged 55 or over at the end of the year may add $1,000 to their own HSA. A 2026 HDHP needs a deductible of at least $1,700 (self-only) or $3,400 (family), with annual out-of-pocket no more than $8,500 or $17,000. Contributions for 2026 may be made until Thursday, April 15, 2027.

## The 2026 proration table

A month counts when you had qualifying HDHP coverage on its first day and no disqualifying coverage. The limit is the annual amount times eligible months divided by twelve, rounded to the dollar.
